Biography

My work over the years has focused on elucidating cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in aberrant cell proliferation using a variety of in vitro and in vivo approaches. In addition to biochemical and cell-based assays, this has ranged from utilizing a rat aortic system to analyze cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in post-angioplasty restenosis to studying neural development and cell fate specification in flies, and finally to in vivo modeling of tumor growth, invasion and organ-specific metastasis. More recently, I am involved in a number of projects with a primary focus on tumor biology and therapeutic approaches towards its treatment.

Fields of research interest include neurodevelopment and associated (mental) disorders, brain aneurysms and tumors, vascular diseases, cancer biology, therapeutics (drug research) and oncolytic viruses, signal transduction, and protein biochemistry.
