Cathy Vellucci Named Deputy Director for Administration

Yale Cancer Center Director, Richard L. Edelson, MD, has named Cathy Vellucci the Deputy Director for Administration. Immediately prior to assuming her new post, Vellucci served as the Director of Staffing and Career Development in Yale University's Department of Human Resources. She has had extensive Medical School administrative experience, having led the teams in the Departments of Neurosurgery and Laboratory Medicine and the Section of Medical Oncology.
“As the new Deputy Director for Administration at the Cancer Center, in some respects, I feel like I am coming home since I was the associate administrator for Oncology from 1987 to 1995. It is particularly exciting to come on board while the new Cancer Center building is underway,” Vellucci said.
“Cathy’s experience in organizing and leading major initiatives throughout her career at Yale University will be instrumental as Yale Cancer Center's clinical and scientific programs continue to blossom,” said Edelson.
In her role as Deputy Director for Administration, Vellucci will oversee the management of the clinical, research, business, human resources, and administrative offices for Yale Cancer Center.
Vellucci completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at The University of New Haven receiving a Bachelor’s degree in financial accounting and her Master’s degree in business administration. She began her career at Yale University in 1978.
