New Haven, Conn - Yale Cancer Center and Yale-New Haven Hospital are co-sponsoring a new bi-weekly support group for lung cancer patients, survivors, and their caregivers. The group will begin meeting on Monday, October 1st at 5:30 PM in the Yale Medical Oncology offices at One Long Wharf Drive in New Haven.
Led by Irene Scanlon, LCSW and Linda David, RN from the Yale Cancer Center Thoracic Oncology Program, the support group will help people living with lung cancer to learn coping mechanisms and will allow them to talk openly about their experience. “Group support can help those affected by lung cancer feel less isolated and connect them with others who understand. We encourage patients and their families to join us and learn new ways to cope with their diagnosis,” said Scanlon.
