Leonard Farber, MD and Arthur Levy, MD Join Yale Cancer Center

New Haven, Conn. — Yale Cancer Center Director, Thomas J. Lynch, Jr., MD, announced two new members of the Center’s clinical staff today.  Dr. Leonard R. Farber has been appointed a Clinical Professor of Medicine and Dr. Arthur L. Levy is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine.  Drs. Farber and Levy both join Yale Cancer Center from Medical Oncology & Hematology, P.C. of New Haven, CT. 

“The addition of Drs. Farber and Levy to Yale Cancer Center’s clinical practice will give greater strength to our ability to ensure all patients at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven are provided optimal patient care. Both physicians are extremely talented oncologists and their expertise will be an asset to our inpatient care units,” Lynch said.

Drs. Farber and Levy will play an integral role in the inpatient oncology consult service.  In addition, Dr. Farber will care for patients through the Yale Cancer Center Melanoma Program and Dr. Levy will join the Women’s Health Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital to care for women with breast cancer.

Dr. Farber received his Medical Degree the State University of New York.  He completed his internship and residency training at Boston University and a fellowship in Medical Oncology at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1971.  Dr. Farber has been in private practice caring for patients with cancer in New Haven for 35 years.

A graduate of Columbia College, Dr. Levy earned his MD degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1966. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center before continuing on to Chief Resident in Medicine at the West Haven VA Hospital in Connecticut.  He joined Medical Oncology & Hematology, P.C. in 1974.
