New Haven, Conn. — In celebration of National Cancer Survivors Day, Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven will host “Dedicated to Living,” a special program for cancer survivors and their families on Wednesday evening, May 26, at Yale’s West Campus, 141 Frontage Road in Orange.
The event, from 5-7:30 p.m., includes a cookout and picnic hosted by Dr. Mel Goldstein, cancer survivor and meteorologist on WTNH Channel 8.
Dr. Thomas Lynch, director of Yale Cancer Center and physician-in-chief of Smilow Cancer Hospital, will welcome guests. The program includes remarks by Bob Mazzone, executive director of the Connecticut Challenge; a cancer patient’s story by Drs. Jerome and Roslyn Meyer; and two musical performances – by Best Kept Secret and by Lot 49.
