Smilow Town Hall I look forward to seeing all of you at our Smilow Cancer Hospital Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, February 2 at 11:30 AM in the auditorium at 55 Park Street. Abe Lopman, Cathy Lyons, Peter Marks, and I will be sharing the latest information operations at Smilow and our goals for the coming months. We also welcome your suggestions and comments and look forward to hearing from you during the meeting. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. |
Cardio-Oncology Program Launches
Dr. Kerry Russell and Dr. Raymond Russell, Associate Professors of Medicine (Cardiology), have launched a Cardio-Oncology Program at Smilow Cancer Hospital to help address the cardio-toxic side effects of chemotherapy treatment, as well as the confounding problem of coexisting cardiac disease and cancer. In addition, the program provides pre-surgical and pre-treatment cardiac evaluation for patients with cancer. Patients can be referred to the program by calling (203) 785-2241. |
Notables Sharon Goldberg has been named Assistant Director of the Clinical Trials Office (CTO). Sharon joined Yale Cancer Center from the NYU Cancer Center and brings in depth regulatory, budget, and clinical trials operational experience to the CTO. She will oversee the expansion of project management and regulatory services and work closely with Dr. Durivage on a number of initiatives, including standardized operational procedures and better orientation and training of all CTO staff. Charleen Campbell, RN, has been hired by the Clinical Trials Office as a research nurse. Brie Hamel was promoted to Project Manager for the Clinical Trials Office. She is assigned to support the thoracic oncology and genitourinary disease programs.
