Brian M. Shuch, MD

Assistant Professor of Urology and of Diagnostic Radiology; Assistant Professor of Radiology

Physician Biography

For the past ten years I have been focused on advancing the field of urologic oncology. I sought out one of the premier academic Urology training programs at UCLA. At UCLA I was mentored by Dr. Arie Belldegrun, one of the leaders in the field of Kidney cancer. After residency I moved to the National Cancer Institute to train under Dr. Marston Linehan, one of the leading kidney cancer physician scientists. During a three year urologic oncology fellowship, I participated in complex management of urologic cancers, translational research, and systemic therapy clinical trials. I moved to Yale to join an exciting and growing program in Urologic Oncology. I hope to expand Yale's participation in translational and clinical research by my participation in the Cancer Genome Atlas Working group (for chromophobe and papillary kidney cancer), the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG), and the Society of Urologic Oncology's Clinical Trial Consortium-Renal Cancer group.
