Biography

Demetrios Braddock was educated at the University of Chicago (A.B., M.D., & Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Medicine, and trained in Anatomical Pathology at the National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health. Following his residency, he further trained in stuctural biology and biophysics in the laboratory of David Levens in Pathology/NCI/NIH and Marius Clore in the Laboratory of Chemical Physics/NIDDK, where he determined the three-dimensional structures of protein-DNA transcription factors governing C-myc expression by multi-dimensional NMR spectroscopy. Since coming to Yale, his laboratory has been actively engaged in the development of translational therapeutics and the biochemistry and biophysics of the ENPP enzymes – a family of enzymes regulating important physiologic processes such as hemostasis, bone mineralization, and inflammation.
