Katherine Harvey Joins Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center at Torrington

Dr. Katherine Harvey has been appointed to join the oncology team at the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center in Torrington. Dr. Harvey joined Yale Cancer Center in 2015 after completing her fellowship in the Yale Medical Oncology-Hematology Fellowship Program. She cares for patients affected by gastrointestinal cancers and blood diseases with individualized and innovative care. The Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center at Torrington works closely with the diagnostic radiologists, pathologists, and medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists in the local community and at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven.
Dr. Harvey received her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and went on to complete her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Her fellowship training was structured to provide not only comprehensive clinical training, but also rigorous research experience. She has a MPH from Harvard University and has been active in Quality improvement, both locally and nationally, serving as a delegate to the CT state medical society and the AMA.
Dr. Harvey and her colleagues at Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center at Torrington are dedicated to understanding the needs of the community as well as the standards of patient care and clinical research emphasized at all Smilow locations.
