Announced earlier this week, the Yale Cancer Center Public Affairs and Communications Office has received a 2023 Gold Award from dotCOMM Awards in recognition of Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital’s weekly radio show, Yale Cancer Answers. Yale Cancer Answers is hosted by Anees Chagpar, MD, MBA, MPH, FACS, FRCS(C), Professor of Surgery (Oncology, Breast), and is currently in its 18th year on air.
Yale Cancer Answers airs every Sunday on Connecticut Public Radio at 7:30PM and provides the most up-to-date information on cancer screening, detection, treatment, and prevention. Topics are focused on sharing recent cancer advances and options for treatment with the broader community. With 52 weeks of original content aired per year, over 900 episodes have been produced with 2,500-5,000 live listeners a week on WNPR, over 4 million impressions on WNPR in 2022.
