Yale New Haven Hospital first to use robot for super microsurgery
The Symani Surgical System robot designed to treat complex patient problems in the field of reconstructive surgery, lymphatic surgery, peripheral nerve repair and trauma. “Patients at Yale New Haven Hospital will now have access to the most advanced world-class treatment options through the use of the Symani robot,” said Bohdan Pomahac, MD, chief, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, YNHH and professor of Surgery, Yale School of Medicine.

Amy Marshall: Seeking Care for a Rare Condition after Breast Cancer
After completing radiation therapy for invasive ductal carcinoma, four months later Amy Marshall of Kentucky started experiencing swelling, redness, and discomfort in her right breast. After not finding any relief, a member of her support group suggested she get a second opinion from Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. She was soon on her way driving to Connecticut to meet with a team from the Center for Breast Cancer at Smilow Cancer Hospital where she would receive help.
