The DeLuca Center for Innovation in Hematology Research

The DeLuca Center for Innovation in Hematology Research at Smilow Cancer Hospital was founded thanks to a generous donation by The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation. The Hematology Tissue Bank provides researchers with access to primary patient samples across all Hematologic diseases. The DeLuca Center for Innovation in Hematology Research awards Pilot and Career Development Awards in Hematology Research.

The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation was created in 1998 by the late Fred DeLuca, co-founder of the global SUBWAY® restaurant chain, to provide youth and adults the tools to achieve self-sufficiency through high-quality educational opportunities and scholarships. The foundation addresses critical needs by investing in partners that accelerate economic mobility, educational attainment and health.

The goal of the DeLuca Center is to aid in the translation of Yale Cancer Center laboratory discoveries to our clinics and propel hematology research at Yale over the next decade.
