The American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) has awarded Henry M. Rinder, MD, MA, FACP, MASCP, with the 2024 ASCP Mastership. This honor is bestowed upon members who have made outstanding contributions to pathology and the ASCP.
Dr. Rinder, a former ASCP President, is recognized for his work as a Professor of Laboratory Medicine & Internal Medicine (Hematology) at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Rinder trained in internal medicine, hematology, and clinical pathology. His research has primarily focused on inflammation, platelets, and hemostasis.
“I am deeply honored to be recognized by my peers,” Dr. Rinder said. As an ASCP volunteer, Dr. Rinder has served on committees tasked with education and professional development, supporting the pathology and laboratory professional workforce, and guiding membership through regulatory and policy issues
Dr. Rinder provides consultation in clinical and laboratory hematology, and educates students, residents and fellows. As an ASCP volunteer, Dr. Rinder has been instrumental in committees related to education, professional development, workforce support, and regulatory/policy guidance. His contributions underscore the vital role of laboratory professionals, pathologists, and other physician providers in patient care.
