Inclusive Care for Transgender People with Cancer & Art as Resistance: Transgender People With Cancer: Film and Panel Discussion

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, an open screening of the movie, “Trans Dudes with Lady Cancers” was held at the Whitney Humanities Center. The short film is a courageous documentary following the personal journey of two transmasculine people, their family, and their community, as they navigate a medical system that is scrambling to figure out how to provide affirming care for transgender people.

Filmmaker Yee Won Chong, along with the Transgender Cancer Patient Community Advisory Board and Dr. Ash Alpert whose work focuses on improving experiences and outcomes for transgender people with cancer, held a discussion on November 15th that included a panel with Yee Won Chong and other transgender people with cancer.

The events were cosponsored by Whitney Humanities Center; Yale Cancer Center; Yale School of Medicine Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; and Yale Queer Faculty Affinity Group.
