Nipun Verma, MD, PhD, is an Instructor of Clinical Therapeutic Radiology in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology and cares for patients at Smilow Cancer Hospital in Trumbull. Her clinical practice focuses on caring for patients with thoracic and hematologic malignancies. Dr. Verma received her MD and PhD degrees as part of the medical scientist training program at Weill Cornell Medical College and completed her residency at Yale School of Medicine where she served as a Chief Resident.
Dr. Verma completed a Yale Cancer Center Physician Scientist T32 Research Fellowship and a Holman Research Pathway Fellowship in the labs of Dr. Sidi Chen and Dr. Peter Glazer. The Holman Research Pathway is designed for exceptional trainees that have both strong clinical abilities and a background in research.
Her research interests include translational and basic science of the immune effects of radiation and clinical research on local treatments of oligometastatic cancer. She hopes to use her research to improve patient outcomes.
