Toby Bressler, PhD, RN, OCN, FAAN, Appointed Vice President for Patient Services at Smilow Cancer Hospital

Toby Bressler, PhD, RN, OCN, FAAN, will join Smilow Cancer Hospital as Vice President for Patient Services on January 6, 2025. Bressler is currently Senior Director of Nursing for Oncology and Clinical Quality at The Mount Sinai Health System, Associate Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and an Adjunct Professor at the Phillips School of Nursing.

“Toby’s leadership and expertise in oncology program development and establishing standardized clinical guidelines will be a valuable asset to Smilow Cancer Hospital. We welcome her to our team in the new year,” said Eric Winer, MD, Director of Yale Cancer Center and President and Physician-in-Chief of Smilow Cancer Hospital.

Bressler received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, and her Masters of Public Administration from New York University. She completed her PhD in Nursing at Molloy University in Rockville Centre, NY. Prior to joining Mount Sinai, she held leadership roles at Maimonides Medical Center, Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, and NewYork-Presbyterian.

In recognition of her national leadership in the field, Bressler received the Excellence in Oncology Nursing Health Policy and Advocacy Award from the Oncology Nursing Society and the HealthImpact DAISY Nurse Leader Award in Policy from the American Organization for Nursing Leadership in 2024. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the New York Academy of Medicine, President of the Board of the Orthodox Jewish Nurses Association, a member of the American Nurses Association and Co-Chair of their Policy and Advocacy Special Interest Group, and a member of the Oncology Nursing Society.
